Our firm specializes in helping you create the perfect event. If you are planning a Wedding Reception, Company Holiday Party, Class Re-union, Anniversary, or a backyard Karaoke Party, we can help. 

 

Wedding Receptions - Have you ever jumped up in the middle of the night, worried about your wedding plans, specifically, the wedding reception?  After working with many brides and grooms, we think this fear is real with most couples. After you spend all of the time, effort, and money to plan the perfect day, we want to make sure that is exactly what you get.

Our approach to wedding receptions has two phases. Phase 1. Wedding Reception Planning. Phase 2. Wedding Reception Execution.

Phase 1: Wedding Reception Planning

Once you have engaged our company to work with you on your wedding reception, we immediately start the planning phase. We use a Wedding Reception Planner (WRP) to insure that together we have thought of all of the details for your reception. We work with you to coordinate all aspects of your reception such as what kind of music do you want played during the dinner, what time will guests arrive at the reception, when will the wedding party arrive, will there be a blessing for your food, who will give the blessing, and so on. After we work through our WRP, we then create a one page Reception Agenda that you can share with your Catering company, Photographer, Hall Manager, and family. We find that if everyone is working from the same plan, the plan goes smoothly.

Phase 2: Wedding Reception Execution

This is where our company really shines. Because of the extensive research and preparation we do, we are ready to make sure your big day goes off without a hitch. We help coordinate the grand entrance, make sure the caterers are ready to serve the food at the scheduled time, all people involved with the specialty dances are cued up before the first specialty dance starts, you get the idea. Because of the technology we utilize at our events, we are able to leave the DJ table for a few minutes at a time to touch base and coordinate with the appropriate parties throughout the night. This is the element of our service that sets us apart and ensures your event will be a success. Our technology also allows us to have great lists of Dance and Party music cued up and ready to play.

In addition to Wedding Receptions, A Special Event provides DJ and Karaoke services in the Central Iowa Region for Private Parties, School Dances, Corporate Functions, and more. Before any of our events start, we go through an Event Planner with you to make sure your Special Event is exactly what you envisioned. We provide high quality sound systems, thousands of songs to choose from, great lights, and wireless/wired microphones for our events.

1.        Do you go through a reception planner with us to create our agenda?

2.        During the wedding reception, will you help coordinate all of the different parties involved (caterer, photographer, hall manager)?

3.        Do you provide an agenda that I can share with the caterer, photographer, hall manager, and others to make sure everyone is on the same page, prior to the event?
